Moviebaker Journey Week 3: UX/UI Design, Casting Module Preview, and Social Growth

Homepage and UX/UI Refinements

This week, much of the work revolved around the Moviebaker homepage and overall design consistency across modules.

Edyta led the visual and interaction design decisions, ensuring the interface is cinematic and user‑friendly while remaining practical for long‑term use. Together with Salvatore, she evaluated typography, color balance, and content hierarchy, aiming for a design that conveys professionalism while keeping navigation intuitive.

Planned homepage updates include:

  • Detailed overviews for each platform module
  • Dedicated subpages for focused messaging
  • A clear pricing page to improve transparency

Inside the Rental Module

The Rental Module remains central to the platform’s appeal for small production teams and gear rental operations. Edyta coordinated feedback sessions with testers, while Salvatore iterated on UI flows in response to common pain points.

Current Rental Module workflow:

  • Enter basic rental details and status
  • Select a customer from the database
  • Add products, crew, and additional services
  • Review cost summary before confirmation

The design philosophy is to keep every step logical and uncluttered, avoiding the overwhelm that plagues many industry tools.

Previewing the Casting Module

The upcoming Casting Module is being designed with a mobile‑first approach to better serve actors, extras, and other talent.

Key features under development:

  • Step‑by‑step onboarding with save‑progress options
  • Profile sections for personal info, education, and experience
  • Easy upload or in‑app recording for photos, videos, and slate videos
  • Profile preview to show exactly what recruiters see
  • Direct application to available casting calls

Edyta has been hands‑on in prototyping the mobile UI to ensure it feels natural for on‑the‑go use.

Social Media Performance – Week 3

Edyta continues to lead the visual content strategy across channels, producing reels, stories, and updates tailored to each platform.

Highlights:

  • Facebook: Slight dip in engagement due to fewer posts
  • Instagram: Growth driven by more consistent reel uploads and better reach
  • LinkedIn: 30% increase in followers after recent post activity
  • TikTok: Approaching 10,000 total views
  • YouTube: Nearing 7,000 total views, 34 subscribers
  • Threads: Minimal posting this week

The next step is translating social engagement into tangible web traffic.

What’s Next

  • Launch of a dedicated Rental Module landing page
  • Finalizing the pricing page
  • Continued refinement of the Casting Module UX
  • Expanding outreach to targeted filmmaker communities

Note: Companies based and operating in Ukraine will continue to have free access to Moviebaker indefinitely.

Summary

Week 3 reinforced Moviebaker’s dual commitment to user‑driven design and measurable growth. Edyta’s design leadership, paired with Salvatore’s development focus, is shaping a product that aims to streamline real production workflows. With targeted landing pages, improved pricing transparency, and a mobile‑ready Casting Module on the way, the journey toward the one‑million‑revenue goal is gaining momentum.
